Final updates for my Support Packs and farewell

Hi everyone.

It's been almost 15 years since my first pack, now it's time to say goodbye.

This is my last round of updates for my Support Packs. They were under testing since January to ensure the best experience to everyone.

Thanks to canonkong, a nice chinese guy, my drivers are properly signed and can be easily installed without any special procedures, even with Secure Boot enabled.

Please read the ReadMe during Setup for more useful information.

Hopefully the changes in Windows 11 won't break the drivers to the point of being unusable.

Thanks for your support for all these years.

Take care,
daniel_k

X-Fi Support Pack 8.0 (Refresh 3)

- For Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 / 11 (32 / 64-bit)

- Supports the following X-Fi models (Retail/OEM):

  • PCI SB046x / SB055x / SB073x / SB077x / Auzentech Prelude
  • PCIe Titanium / Titanium HD (*) / Auzentech Forte / Auzentech HomeTheater HD / Onkyo Wavio SE-300PCIE (R2) / Gigabyte Titanium onboard
(*) - Not supported on Windows XP
- Windows 10 and Secure Boot:
  • Apply the UpgradedSystem.reg file in the SecureBoot folder and restart Windows.
- Fixes:

  • Refresh 3 update (08/20):
    - Added workaround to avoid system crash during installation on Win11, affected all Auzentech cards.
    - To avoid possible (future) issues with X-Fi Titanium HD, also applied the same workaround to its driver, X-Fi PCI and Titanium PCIe already have it.
  • Refresh 2 update (08/16):
    - Fixed Auzentech X-Fi HomeTheater HD stuck in Entertainment mode.
    - Updated Auzentech APOs to latest version.
  • Refresh update (08/14):
    - Fixed driver install bug that prevented apps from detecting the sound card on XP x64.
    - Fixed driver / mixer settings not being reset to defaults after driver installation on Vista or later
  • Windows 10 1903 and later device detection issues / missing mixer devices.
  • THX Console was not available.
  • Sample Rate Converter (SRC) 48kHz bug introduced in versions 2.30 (PCI) and 2.40 (Titanium PCIe) that crashed Windows if you:
    - Tried to change master sampling rate in Audio Creation mode.
    - Played a non-48kHz audio using ASIO.
    - Tried to change default format of SPDIF Output.
    - Played any audio while OpenAL is in use, even a Windows notification sound.
  • OpenAL works fine, tested on many games (Bioshock, Killing Floor).
  • Fixed Auzentech Prelude / Forte / HomeTheater HD driver installation issues on Windows 10.
  • Unified and optimized Auzentech Forte and HomeTheater HD drivers as they were exactly the same, except for one file.
  • Auzentech Prelude driver now includes 64-bit ASIO support. Also highly optimized both XP and Vista+ drivers.
  • Added optional 4MB and 8MB SoundFont Banks.
- Bugs / Limitations:
  • Settings not being saved (Auzentech Prelude / Forte / HomeTheater HD)
    - Configure all settings and disable and re-enable the card in Device Manager.
    - If the device is busy, shutdown, hibernate or put your computer to sleep so that your settings will be saved.
  • Memory integrity (feature of core isolation) cannot be enabled on Windows 10
  • VoiceFX is not available
It seems that the OpenAL bugs were introduced at the same time that VoiceFX was implemented (version 2.17.0007 and later).
  • What U Hear is not available on Vista and later (Titanium SB088x)
Before installing the Support Pack, see the ReadMe.txt \XFTI_WUH for instructions and a workaround. As a side effect, jack detection and WaveRT will be unavailable.

    - Shutdown, hibernate or put your computer to sleep so that your settings will be saved.
  • Memory integrity (feature of core isolation) cannot be enabled on Windows 10
  • Driver uninstall on Windows Vista or later (affects all cards, except Audigy 5/RX SB1550 and Audigy 4 Series II SB0612):
    - The included driver for Windows Vista or later has a bug that causes a stop (blue screen) error when unloaded by disabling the Audigy or uninstalling the driver. To workaround this issue, run the KillDrvX.exe utility included and restart when asked to do so. Proceed normally and uninstall all the software or only the driver.
