Driver related information:
I'm always analyzing the code of new Creative drivers and have noticed that support was added for Sound Blaster Z / Zx / ZxR / Recon3D and Audigy FX to the codebase of AE series driver.
Tried it myself and the driver does work, only missing feature is Stereo Direct.
Other than that, it seems stable so far and works on Windows 7 and Windows 10 (2004).
You'll get a warning during driver installation, just continue. No need to disable driver signature enforcement.
May be worth a try for those with issues on AM4 platforms, provided that the fix included is software related (improved code).
EDIT: As of August 2, according to several reports, the driver seems to fix the channel swap and distortion issues on AM4 chipsets.
Be sure to run the small registry fix utility once after driver install.
If the fix it's hardware related this driver won't help.
That would mean to program registers in the IDT (now Renesas) TSI381 PCIe to PCI Bridge.
Yes, the AE series are NOT native PCIe at all and not a single review tells you that: may describe the circuitry in detail, yet "fail" to mention such a large chip.
For Z series, Creative seems to have licensed IP for use in some companion chip working as a bridge.
