Configure all settings and shutdown Windows so that your settings will be saved.
This does not work if you disable Fast startup permanently or temporarily (by holding the Shift key while shutting down).
WINDOWS XP AND WINDOWS SERVER 2003 ROOT CERTIFICATES UPDATE
To use the latest version of Dolby Digital Live, update the root certificates.
Run RootsUpd\rootsupd.exe and wait a few seconds. It's a silent installation.
In order to support all of the original features of the SB X-Fi PCI cards (except the OEM SB077x models), the included driver operates in WDM mode, which may not work in some hardware configurations, specially those based on the NVIDIA nForce chipsets.

Hello. Thank you for updating the X-Fi driver package, Daniel! What a coincidence that I checked your blog for the first time in a very long time just yesterday, and the driver package has been updated just now.
I checked it because I was having a driver-based issue with a program called Fast Tracked 2 Clone. When I launch the 64-bit release of the program, it crashes immediately and I get a BSOD about 30 seconds later with the issue relating to ha20x2k.sys.
I haven't yet installed v5 of the driver package and am still on v4. So, I'm going to install the v5 driver package and see if it fixes the issue.
For X-Fi PCI cards, it seems that using ASIO will result in a BSOD on Windows 10.
For PCIe cards, it doesn't seem to have the issue.
Hi Daniel,
Here's some feedback after installing the v5 X-Fi driver support package.
Small note: I've found that it needs to be run in administrator mode otherwise it will give this error message: https://i.imgur.com/5MEVsgb.png
Issues:
The control panel doesn't remember which mode it was in and doesn't remember any custom settings after restarting the PC. It always starts in the default mode and settings. I've tried installing the driver package to a folder other than Program Files, and it still doesn't remember any settings changes after restarting the PC.
"Recorder" on the Audio Creation Mode control panel window doesn't seem to work. When clicking on the button to start recording, it just stops immediately without recording anything. I also had some difficulty in getting it to work with the v4 driver support package, but I found that setting it to listen to certain input sources made it work. With the newly-installed v5 package, it doesn't work regardless of which input source is selected to capture.
Installing v5 of the driver package also didn't fix the issue I was having with the BSOD caused by something with ha20x2k.sys when running Fast Tracker 2 64-bit. You mention that PCI cards get a BSOD in Windows 10 when using ASIO. Maybe that's the case, though I use ASIO with my Auzentech Prelude in Cubase without getting a BSOD.
Hi Daniel. First Thanks for all you do.
I'm having 2 small issues with my Auzentech Home Theatre.
1) as of V5 The THX console does not recognize my card as a valid THX configurable card so I cannot use This Control.
2) for both V4 and V5, The MIDI A/B items do not play more than a few notes when any MIDI type thing plays, if the card is on Entertainment mode. The other two modes seem fine.
Older cards with really old drivers won't work properly at all.
What is the OS you're running?
1) Will release an update to fix it.
2) Nothing that I can do.
It'd be nice to know the OS you're running.
Hi again, Daniel. Re: "It'd be nice to know the OS you're running."
My OS is Windows 10 LTSC 1809.
Oh, sorry I forgot to mention that I am on Win 7 x64, with Auzentech X-Fi Home Theater HD 7.1
To further clarify. Say I open up the MIDI Bank tool. If I play some piano keys, they make sounds. Maybe only 5 keys or so, then it goes silent. I would have to close and reopen the MIDI Bank tool again, in which case it would play about another 5 notes. This happens with any program accessing the cards own MIDI A/B interfaces, but only on Entertainment mode. Game mode and Creation mode work just fine. It's not a big deal.
If there's anything I can do to test it further for you, I'd be glad to try and help. FWIW, it's a machine that can run XP natively still, so I could test out official drivers or on an older Windows or whatever, for comparison.
Also, if for any reason you need me to test something on an Audigy 2zs, I have one of them handy too.
Thank you for addressing the first point with the THX thing, too.
If you want my email for direct communication, I could post it in the next message, though only if you do NOT approve/post it to this thread.
my card is extream audio, after update windows my sound very lag, popping, how to fix it daniel...
"My OS is Windows 10 LTSC 1809."
Unfortunately the Prelude drivers are too old and a custom version, there is nothing I can do about it. The best I could do was to fix the broken installer a few years ago, otherwise the wouldn't ever load.
Please read the Release Notes, there is a mention of the setting not being saved, with a workaround that usually works.
"Oh, sorry I forgot to mention that I am on Win 7 x64, with Auzentech X-Fi Home Theater HD 7.1"
Fortunately, it is a minor issue.
I'll just release an update in the next day with the THX fix, other than that, this is a maintenance release, probably the final release ever.
"my card is extream audio, after update windows my sound very lag, popping, how to fix it daniel..."
No updates for Xtreme Audio, sorry.
Hi Daniel.
In your driver package, does openAL dll write to the correct folder?

Creative's latest (May 2020) official Titanium HD driver is affected by this bug.
Hello Daniel, thank you very much for your service, I have accompanied you for more than a decade, great work that you have done to this day.
Please, what is the difference between SB X-Fi Series Support Pack 5.0 and SB X-Fi Series Support Pack 5.0 UAA?
I have an X-Fi Titanium PCI-X taken from an old Dell line, I use it on my current PC today, I use the SB X-Fi Series Support Pack 5.0 driver.
Thanks for your help.
"In your driver package, does openAL dll write to the correct folder?"
Can't see why it wouldn't work.
While I don't have a Titanium HD to test it myself, there is nothing wrong with the installer.
The thread you linked to is related to Z Series cards which use a software based EAX.
"what is the difference between SB X-Fi Series Support Pack 5.0 and SB X-Fi Series Support Pack 5.0 UAA?"
UAA version is for legacy PCI cards only.
